Midsummer Market season continues, with Michigan berries and fruits in abundance. This week’s Ravinia Farmers Market on Wednesday, July 12, will feature sweet and tart cherries, raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries and currants, early blueberries, peaches and apricots, late season strawberries ,and additional fruit selections as harvest is available. The Market is open from 8am-1pm (7am early bid shopping) at Jens Jensen Park with fresh, local and organic fruits and vegetables, baked good, artisanal food items, plants and flowers and other Market items, as well as community tents.

Plan your weekly menu with what’s locally in season at the Market, including early cucumbers and zucchini/summer squash, green beans, organic kale and chard selections, mixed greens, lettuces, green onions, garlic scapes, salad turnips, snap peas, parsley, flavorful basil, dill, and other herbs, fruits and veggies.

Join more than 25 weekly local produce, food, artisanal product, plant and natural product vendors in the beautiful setting at Jens Jensen Park. In addition to local and organic produce, select from farm fresh eggs, cheeses, meats, local honey, pastries and baked goods, condiments, herbs and teas, beverages, artisan food products, skin care essentials and soaps, tailored women’s clothing, and fresh cut flowers and beautiful plants for your home and garden. Vendors also offer freshly-made breakfast and lunch items to eat at the Market or take home.

Be sure to stop by the Welcome Tent and enter the Ravinia Festival Free Drawing Experience for a chance to win two tickets to upcoming concerts, courtesy of Ravinia Festival. This week’s first prize winners will receive two pavilion passes to the July 15 CSO performance: Tchaikovsky and Chicago Skyline with Marin Alsop and the CSO: Miriam Fried Plays the Brahms Concerto or the July 19 Concert: Meet the Mahlers: Gustav’s Fifth and Alma’s Songs with the CSO: 2x Grammy Winner Sasha Cooke Returns to Ravinia! MUSIC: As always, market goers will enjoy live music throughout the market, starting with acoustic music “Jazzman” Jeff Justman from 9-10:30 a.m. This week’s Ravinia Farmers Market Live Music Series features the jazz sounds jazz of Imperial Boxmen from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thank you to Highland Park Community Foundation for their generous support of the Live Music Series at Ravinia Farmers Market.
